
STEP 1 : Catch in a piece of gold wire along the hookshank, stop the thread wraps just before a position opposite the barb.

STEP 2 : Catch in two peacock herls , tied in tip first and return the thread back up the hook shank and leave near the eye.

STEP 3 : Wind the peacock herls up the hook shank to the eye being careful not to overlap them and tie off with thread.

STEP 4 : Wind the wire up the hook shank to create a rib. Secure with thread. Now trim the waste wire by rocking it back and forth, this should cause the wire to snap at the tie in point.

STEP 5 : Catch in a hen hackle. I prefer to use a hackle that has barbs around 1.5 to 2 times the width of the hook bend.

STEP 6 : Wind the hen hackle once or twice depending on how sparce you want the hackle to be. Tie off with thread, whip finish and varnish the head.
