The Hare's ear patterns are very simple but highly effective. Originally tied in natural fur and called the Gold Ribbed Hares Ear (GRHE), many variants have now been produced using dyed Hare's Ear fur. Usually can be tied very small to simulate tiny midge pupae or very large for cased caddis larvae.
Best fished on either a dead drift or twitched using a slow figure of eight retrieve. Can sometimes be taken as it falls through the water.
